How to Make Yogurt Using a Yogurt Maker

The great thing about owning a yogurt maker is that you get to know exactly what you’re eating. Plus, you are able to maintain a healthy lifestyle and enjoy an unprocessed food anytime you please.

If you’re new to making yogurt using an electric device, you should know that it is important to use the instructions that come with the product. The best part is that these units are easy to use and take all the stress of creating a perfect temperature in order for the natural bacteria to grow.

Depending on the type of milk that you use, you’ll need to keep the yogurt in the freezer for a certain number of hours. Usually, the settings from the control panel allow you to set the device so that it works for the amount of time you need to transform the milk into yogurt.

The process of making yogurt with the best yogurt maker is actually easy and fun. First of all, you must preheat the maker. While the device gets heated, you should start boiling the milk. You can use any type of milk you want, including non-dairy ones such as soy, rice, or almond.

Once the milk begins to boil, you remove it from the stove and let it cool for a while. Then, use a kitchen thermometer and see if the milk has reached a temperature around 100 degrees. Now you can add the yogurt and begin to stir.

When the yogurt mixture is ready, pour it into the container. Place the container in the yogurt maker and secure the lid onto the making device. The timer is usually set anywhere between 8 to 12 hours. When the timer is finished, you can remove the lid, stir the yogurt and then let it refrigerate for another 3 or 4 hours.

After that period, you can enjoy it with different flavor or plain. As far as the cleaning operation goes, usually all you have to clean is the containers and the lids of the yogurt maker.
